June 15, 2018

Over the course of his legal career, which is well into its third decade by now, Warren Friss has developed something of an unusual specialty, in that he handles a lot of sports-related law. That relatively unusual specialty likely comes from the time he served as the general counsel for The Topps Company, known worldwide as one of the most prominent sports cards and memorabilia companies anywhere. At Topps, he served as both the company’s legal counsel and as a company executive at various times.

Keep in mind the Topps Company is one of the largest sports cards and memorabilia companies in the world. As their legal counsel, Warren Friss oversaw virtually every aspect of that company's legal and compliance functions. Those included many financial transactions and contract negotiations, but he also handled intellectual property and personality rights issues, as well as Human Resources, and employment law matters. He is capable of handling almost anything. He has so far dealt with many complex transactions, including mergers and acquisitions, private placements, joint ventures and strategic alliances, among many other matters. He is also highly experienced and skilled with such issues as debt financing and employment law.
